the Red Balloon Project
The Red Balloon Project is a group of passionate volunteers who care about doing right by others, especially kids who are fighting a battle. We partner with local organizations like the MeFine Foundation and the Ronald McDonald House to identify families in the Triangle area of North Carolina that they can serve at our parties. Speaking of parties, the Red Balloon Project organizes parties that are themed to the children we’ve invited. Their first – a Princess Party – had all the trimmings including arrival in a horse-drawn carriage, a personal princess host (from our partner, the Miss North Carolina Scholarship Pageant Organization) and a tiara & sash decoration station. Every party has a fun photo booth, an awesome dance party and cake — OF COURSE THERE’S CAKE!

From princesses to superheroes, Red Balloon Projects organizes parties that allow kids to be kids no matter the health challenge they are living through. Our goal is to replace missed memories from missed parties due to their illness with an awesome memory from our party. Encouraged to invite 5-10 friends, each child gets to have their own party inside of a bigger party. Born in the Triangle area of North Carolina, The Red Balloon Project has no limits in terms of the children it serves.
