It is time for TWC to announce a new Haiti Medical Team Trip
In 2018 Together We Can (TWC) is sponsoring a medical team to the new location of Together We Can – Haiti. The team will depart from Raleigh Durham airport Saturday, March 3, 2018 and will return Saturday, March 10, 2018. We are partnered with Edenton Street United Methodist Church in Raleigh but you do not need to be a member of this church to participate. We have team members from across the USA of many different backgrounds.
The medical team served at this new location in February of 2016 and 2017 and was fortunate to see over 1400 people. They were the first team to use the new guest/residence house. This house is being outfitted to serve as a team headquarters in the future. The February 2017 trip report is available on this website.
TWC does all planning including purchasing airline tickets, arranging travel and lodging in Haiti, providing translators as needed, obtaining travel insurance to cover any aspect of the trip, providing answers to any questions, etc. You literally will only need to have a current passport (not scheduled to expire within 6 months of the trip dates, pack according to recommendations, have some personal spending money (usually not more than $150), get on the plane at RDU and go! Once you land in Haiti everything is done that you need to have an amazing experience. This is an easy trip as far as the logistics and care you will receive.
Ideas for funding the trip are at the end of this information. Feel free to ask questions about that or anything you read.
Projected cost – $1800 per person. The emphasis of this team will be providing medical services. We need pharmacists, doctors, PAs, nurses, NPs, or anyone trained in providing health care, BUT this team can definitely include people who are not trained in medical areas but who want to serve. We need support people to help in a variety of ways. You will be housed at the new location on top of a beautiful mountain where it is cool!! You will be amazed at how clean and refreshing the area is. You will be provided all the information needed to prepare for the trip as far as clothing, etc. There are literally no mosquitos at this location.
Edenton Street United Methodist Church and Together We Can have partnered in this service ministry the last six years. People can help support you with donations since Together We Can is a 501(c)3 and provides coverage for tax donation purposes.
All checks can be made out to Together We Can, Inc. We encourage people to fund raise as they wish using our nonprofit status. There is also a link to donate on PayPal at www.togetherwecaninc.org. All contact information is below.
One excellent means of fund raising is to ask for donations as Christmas presents!! or birthday, etc.
